Bloober Team, the Polish studio behind The Medium, Blair Witch, and the Layers of Fear will direct the remake, and Masahiro Ito, the series’ original monster designer, and Akira Yamaoka, its original audio designer/composer, will both return for the remake. Many of these announcements and details, while exciting for fans, were already expected due to numerous previous rumors and leaks.

James Sunderland, the protagonist, and his archenemy Pyramid Head both make appearances in the trailer. Mateusz Lenart, head of design of Bloober Team, has made some exciting statements on the PlayStation Blog.  Although the original Silent Hill 2 was a game that a large number of players enjoyed, it is reasonable to assume that some improvements can be appreciated if they add value to the overall gameplay. Along with adjustments to the combat system, it appears that the game has adopted a new over-the-shoulder camera style. Furthermore, owing to Unreal Engine 5, the graphics in the trailer seem fantastic. This allows the developers to concentrate on the minute elements that make all the difference. According to Konami producer Motoi Okamoto, this camera style was adopted as the developers wanted players to completely immerse in the experience as if they were themselves part of the game. The Silent Hill 2 remake is being advertised as a timed-exclusive for the PlayStation 5. A PC version will be released later. The release date for the game is yet to be announced, however we can expect it to come out anytime in 2023.
