Google joined hands with Samsung to bring the new Wear OS experience to their watches. This likely helped them iron out the kinks before Google launches its own Wear OS watch launches, along with helping Samsung mature its lineup even further. There have been many leaks and rumors about the upcoming Pixel watch, and recently 9to5Google even managed to obtain the initial pricing for cellular variant of the Pixel Watch, reportedly starting at $399. It would be safe to say, the non-cellular variant could start at the $300 mark. This is slightly more expensive than the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5, which start at the $299 and $329 mark, respectively. While other Android wearables are going to be the main competitors to the upcoming Pixel watch, Google is going to try and match Apple’s wearables as they are the market leaders in the category. It shouldn’t be that hard, given the Pixel watch has a decent pricing advantage, and recent Apple wearables like the Watch 6 Series usually start at the $400 mark for the non-cellular version. What Google would have to nail is the software and connectivity experience, which is still behind its Apple counterparts. As for the specs, the Pixel Watch is rumored to use the Exynos 9110 SoC, which is even older than the Exynos W920 on the Galaxy Watch 4. Some sources suggested, the main reason behind Google going for the Exynos 9110 was, that it was the latest SoC when the watch was still under development, and any other modification could have delayed the project further. The Pixel Watch is also rumored to come with 1.5GB of RAM, along with 32GB of storage space. The battery is expected to be just under 300mAh, which will be powered by a USB-C ended magnetic charger.
