If you are using a Siri remote or later Apple TV remote, you need to charge your Apple TV remote for at least 30 minutes with the lighting cable. Also, you can check the battery level of your Apple TV remote in Settings > Remotes & Devices. Then, Select your Remote and check the battery level.
